Enter Your Sanctuary…

Nestled on the second floor amongst the treetops, the studio is is bathed in an abundance of natural light.  With dark hardwood floors and styled with decor from India and Indonesia, this space emanates a peaceful ambiance and is a true sanctuary for Yoga.

Soul Spark Yoga hosts traditional Yoga classes, specifically a Hatha form called Yoga Pranala.  The practice consists of pranayama (controlled breathing), asanas (poses), meditation, Yoga Nidra, and energy movements.  Through this practice we increase our energy, vitality, and flexibility, bringing a greater awareness of body, soul and mind.

  • Yamas & Niyamas

    Known as the gems of wisdom, the Yamas and Niyamas enable us to have a more joyful and meaningful life.

    Join us for a 2-class series as we explore two of the 8 limbs of Yoga: the Yamas and the Niyamas. Known as the ethical practice of Yoga, we will dive into a deeper understanding of these limbs and flesh out how they can positively change our lives.

    • Learning about the Yamas/Niyamas
    • Writing exercise: responsive journaling
    • Moving meditation through asanas (poses)

    • learn about the relation between Gunas (character traits or attributes of nature) and Chakras (subtle energies) to shed light on imbalances
    • discover how to use the 3 limbs of Yoga (poses, breath and meditation) to get “unstuck” and live more meaningfully and wholesomely
    • begin to formulate an improved life narrative and approach that is unique to you by honing in on aspects of the Gunas and Chakras that need adjustment

  • Ayurveda & A Healthy You

    Ayurveda offers timeless methods of fine-tuning the body and harmonizing your health.

    Considered the sister science of Yoga, Ayurveda has much to offer in optimizing health, prana, and well-being. Join us for this 4-class series that will help you learn about the science of Ayurveda and how to apply it to your life.

    In these 4 classes, you will:

    • glimpse into the history of Ayurveda
    • learn about the 3 doshas and discover your own unique physical, mental, and emotional constitution
    • learn how to eat according to your dosha, keeping you’re “internal fire” strong with foods designed for your type
    • explore the stages of disease and how to level out dosha imbalances to prevent illness
    • discover how to adjust eating and habits with seasonal changes

    On the last night, enjoy a meal according to your dosha type with tea and dessert and take-home spice favors.

  • Pranayama & Mantra: 6-Week Series

    The ancient technology has much to offer us even today. This series comes with a book so you bring your learning home. Join us for all 6 sessions and learn these subtle practices that will balance the energy throughout the body systems.

    Each session will incorporate a new:

    • Sun/moon salutation sequence
    • Pranayama technique
    • Mantra and meditation
    • Chant to focus and calm the mind
    • Relaxation pose/technique
    Malas will be used in class. You can borrow a studio wrist mala or buy your own from our display case . There are some lovely sandalwood (slightly aromatic when you use it) and lotus seed malas. If you own a mala, you can bring it to the sessions.
    As we will be doing some poses, dress comfortably as you would for a regular Yoga class.

pranalahThis 75-minute class is suitable for those with little to advanced Yoga experience. Yoga Pranala, in the Hatha tradition, includes asanas (poses), meditation, energy  movements, and pranayama (controlled breathing).  In Yoga Pranala, we are rooted to the earth and connected with the breath as a means of concentration and mindfulness throughout the practice.

pranalahThis 90-minute class is Yoga Pranala with the restful Yoga Nidra practice at the end of class.  Done lying in the resting pose of Savasana, Yoga Nidra is a systematic practice of bringing the practitioner to a deep state of relaxation, with 20-minutes of Yoga Nidra being equivalent to 2 1/2 hours of restful sleep.  This is considered the dessert of any Yoga practice as it  brings about a relaxation that most people are not able to achieve even through sleep.  These classes are usually done in the 7pm time slot to allow for maximum relaxation. Be sure to bring your eye pillow for the Yoga Nidra part for blissful relaxation!

relaxation-frontThis class will relax you and wash away stress from your day. Suitable for all levels, this Restorative Yoga class will bring ultimate relaxation as we get into supported poses on the mat using blankets and bolsters. This is an especially appropriate class for those who suffer from fibromyalgia, arthritis, and multiple sclerosis as it is gentle. Be sure to arrive no less than 15-minutes early to get set up and bring your eye pillow to class for ultimate relaxation (we also sell some at the studio).

This slow-paced class is composed of poses held up to 5 minutes. Beginning with the grounding practice of pranayama (controlled breathing), we set the pace breathwise for a class of poses that are held low and closer to the mat. These poses apply moderate stress to the connective tissues—the tendons, fascia, and ligaments—so as to increase flexibility and circulation.

This practice is very meditative and helps the practitioner to experience a deep and fulfilling practice.

The only initial cost for this class is the one-time non-refundable fee which is the rental price of the text (you return the text when you are done using it). The ongoing classes are free to all students who are 5, 10, or 15-class pass holders. These class have no definite end date. Once we get to the end of the text, we will cycle through it again. This means you can have the opportunity to go through the book as many times as you wish.
