Meet Soul Spark Yoga.
I am Audrey Marie Forbes,
owner and lead teacher of Soul Spark Yoga.
As a graduate of the 200-hour and 300-hour International Yoga Teacher Training programs of Intuitive Flow in Ubud, Bali, Indonesia in 2013 and 2016, I am trained in Yoga Pranala and Viniyoga in the Hatha style and a registered teacher under the Yoga Alliance with more than 2000 teaching hours. Under the guidance of various teachers, I received a comprehensive and authentic transmission of the teachings of Yoga: pranayama, asana, bandha, mudra, meditation, chanting, Yoga Nidra, basic principles of Ayurveda, marma therapy, energy movements, and the study of Yogic texts.
After starting Yoga in 2007 and having a personal practice for several years, I have personally witnessed how a daily Yoga practice can holistically affect one’s life. From transforming the body on the mat to one’s very spirit, I am an advocate of the Yogic tradition in its fullness.
Besides teaching a variety of Yoga classes at my studio in Kent on East Hill, I also hold series classes that deepen knowledge of Yoga, from pranayama to Ayurveda and to chanting. My goal as a teacher is to inspire my students to adopt the holistic lifestyle that Yoga offers.
Awaken, grow, illuminate. That is our shared goal.
Namaste…I hope we meet soon.
I am Chandra Gurung.
Since I was a teenager I had a question in my mind. I was inquiring ‘who am I?’. The very question and concern led me to Yoga. For the first time, I knowingly got into the subject of Yoga in 2002. Eventually, I got the answer to not only that spiritual question but many others.
Physically, psychologically, and socially I felt stronger and agile than ever before. I then realized my desire to share my learning and experience to the people who need it. Since 2006, I have been sharing my experience of Yoga to the hundreds of thousands of people from different corners of Nepal as well as many people of the USA and Europe.
I had the opportunity to learn under the discipleship of Dr. Yogi Vikashananda. Under his tutelage, I learned Hatha Yoga, Yoga philosophy, Naturopathy, and many other nuances of Yoga. Through the intensive and specific program named ‘Five Year Self-transformation and Leadership Development ’ in 2005, I was blessed to get vivid and vast wisdom of Yoga which made me realize that Yoga is not just a physical aspect of life; rather, it is a greater and grander phenomena of life connected on a mental, psychological, and spiritual level.
It’s my great privilege to be a part of Soul Spark Yoga. While having a Yogic upbringing and learning in the authentic Himalayan teaching of Yoga in Nepal, I feel more responsible to share the experience that I attained in more than a decade.
I am Sarah Suyong Kane.
Yoga came into my life through asana practice, just after my college years at the University of Washington. At the time, I was deeply involved in the restaurant industry, and I began a somewhat sporadic Yoga practice at home to stretch out and destress from the busy and demanding lifestyle. In 2013, I set off on a solo backpacking trip to South America, where my relationship with Yoga continued to deepen. Much of the Yoga I was doing on this trip was svadhyaya, self study, and shedding many layers of my past, to shine light on my true self and my true path. It was through this spiritual Yoga practice that I began to heal, and knew that I wanted to help others on their path to healing.
Upon my return to the Seattle area in 2016, I went right back into working in restaurants. But I was deeply unhappy, and knew that this wasn’t the path for me any longer. In 2017 I took a leap of faith and enrolled in a 200-hr Vinyasa training and I haven’t looked back. In 2018 I took another 200-hr training in Hatha, and I look forward to going to India in the near future to deepen my studies. Being able to share this profound healing practice with others, and seeing the transformation in so many of my students’ lives is the most rewarding part of this journey. I am honored to be a part of the Soul Spark Yoga community, to teach and learn and grow with all of you.
I am Liz Woltz.
Yoga has been around for thousands of years and what everyone says about it is true! Yoga brings a transformational opportunity to each person and it is my highest honor and greatest love to pass on Yoga to everyone. On a personal level, Yoga has broken through heavy scar tissue in my feet, toes, and knee, allowing me to access proper alignment and full range of motion where previously there were great limits. My self care practices became more intuitive and healthy habits began to naturally replace bad habits. I left a high stress, high paying, high demand career that I never liked to create a career that I love. As a Yoga teacher, I am intuitive and playful. Alignment and technique is always very important and I love encouraging people to explore what they can do.
Yoga is for everyone and I can’t wait to see you in class. Namaste!
